Eleven
Back at HQ, I paused after taking only a single step out of my private shower. Arrayed all across my room were all the most important women in my life.
Tabitha was lounging across my bed, her hands on her belly clutching a cup with a bendy straw. Euna was sitting by her feet, flipping through one of our dirty magazines and morphing her features around to look like different nude models inside the pages. Io was curled around my desk chair, typing away at my laptop and her tablet at the same time. Selene was leaning up against the door still wearing the tactical gear she had borrowed from Tabitha.
And I was all but naked, aside from a single towel I quickly covered my crotch with.
Tabitha snorted. “Hotshot, I don’t know why you’re trying to hide it. We’ve all seen it.”
“I haven’t,” Selene corrected. “I mean, Hannah has, obviously, but not me.”
“Well, you heard the lady, drop the towel, handsome,” Io flirted.
I kept the towel where it was. “Why are you all in my room?”
Euna tossed the naughty magazine back onto my bedside table and rose up, folding her arms over her natural (thicc as fuck) body and fixing me with a glare. This was not one of her thin copies that accompanied me on most of my missions. This was ‘Euna prime’ (she hated it when I called her that, saying that all her copies were really her) in the flesh. Well, in the pink translucent biomass, but that was as close to flesh as it got with slimes. Her core was floating around inside her not-quite-see-through body just behind her navel, right around where most girls’ cervix would be (the screams she made when I hit that thing with the head of my cock? Priceless).
“This is an intervention, Ryan,” Euna stated, instantly cutting through my mild reverie where I had been reliving the last time we fucked. Which, now that I thought about it, was actually quite a while ago.
“An intervention?” I repeated in disbelief. “Is this because I didn’t let you and Tabby join me on that last mission? If so, you can both save it. I made up my mind and you’re not going to change it. Unless you have something else you want to discuss with me, preferably something about the mission we should all be focusing on, you can all get out.”
Io sighed. “Ryan, don’t be like that. You need to hear what we have to say.”
I crossed the room to my dresser and started pulling out clothes. All four girls were staring at me as I walked by, and I completely gave up on the towel (not like it was concealing much anyway). I let it drop to the floor and allowed myself a small amount of pride in the way each girl’s eyes instantly darted down to it.
“Damn. Nobody told me it was that big,” Selene muttered to herself too quietly for human ears to pick up on. Not quiet enough for werewolf ears though. I gave her a little wink as I turned around to pull on some underwear and enjoyed the blush that crept up her cheeks as she averted her gaze.
Tabitha rose from the bed with some difficulty and started off this supposed intervention. “Look, I totally get why you made me stay behind. I do. But there was no reason for you to refuse Euna’s help. She could’ve been a real asset out there in the graveyard.”
I rolled my eyes. “She stayed behind because she didn’t tell me what you were planning. My only regret about what happened earlier is that I didn’t say something sooner. Things are crazy out there. I’m not risking any of you again. You’re too vulnerable.”
Io and Euna’s eyes met, as did Selene and Tabitha’s.
“What? I can feel you all not saying something. Somebody better tell me what it is.”
For a second or two, nobody spoke.
Sighing in disgust, I pulled on a pair of pants and reached for a shirt.
“Ryan, listen to me,” Selene said suddenly. “It’s me, Hannah. I know you better than anyone else here and I think these ladies are just concerned about you. You’ve been under a lot of pressure lately, trying to do too much and taking on more and more responsibilities, and they’ve noticed it’s taking a toll on how much time you spend with them. When was the last time you just relaxed?”
Euna chimed in, saying that, “He hasn’t touched those magazines in a while.”
“Yeah, and his browser history is empty of anything non-mission-related for the past month and a half,” Io added. “He hasn’t even cleared anything out for longer than that, and the last thing he looked for on Pornucopia.com was ‘lesbian threesome.’”
“Wow, can’t I have even, like, one shred of privacy?” I asked the room.
“He hasn’t been intimate with any of us for weeks,” Tabitha condemned.
My eyes went wide as all three of my girls just completely betrayed me like that.
What the fuck!
“Whoa! Way to completely out a guy, what’s the matter with you?” I demanded as I reached for some socks and shoes. “Just because I have three girlfriends suddenly I’m supposed to be this sex-crazed fuck machine? Guys go through dry spells too, y’know,” I added defensively.
“You never went through any dry spells with me,” Hannah admitted. “You are always way hornier than I could keep up with. Believe me, I tried.”
Tabitha smiled. “Oh we know. It took all three of us to keep him satisfied those first few months after he bonded to Euna. His hormones skyrocketed and we couldn’t drain his balls fast enough. We tried everything.” Now those were some good memories. “To be honest I’m a little surprised I’m the only one pregnant right now.”
Io shrugged, still typing away at the screens. “Lamia have specific mating seasons once every three years. Mine isn’t until next summer. And slimes don’t reproduce sexually.”
Answers to questions I did not realize I had. Interesting.
“Ryan, I know you’re embarrassed right now, but we’re just trying to help,” Euna said softly. That was a trap. She knew I had a soft spot for her ever since she almost died. Anytime she made her voice do that little simper thing, I usually wound up with my pants around my ankles and my dick wet.
“Enough. I’m done talking about my sex life right now. Look, I love all of you, and I can’t wait for the world to calm down enough for us to get back to our regularly scheduled pounding, but there’s a lot going on right now. Zombies running rampant, ghosts on the loose in the mortal world, hell we haven’t even gotten those last three Signal emitters yet. For all I know, there could be feral monsters roaming around Eastport chewing up all the people running from the zombies!”
I shook my head as that possibility ran its course through my mind.
“No, handsome. All three of those last emitters are still dormant. Aleksei has actually set up survivor camps all throughout the city and has things under strict quarantine. Now that we know what we’re protecting against there’s no chance of dark spores entering those camps. We’re just doing everything we can to clean up the zombies that are out there and collect any survivors now. My drone department is actually proving to be a huge help on that front. We still need that cure, but things are on their way to being as contained as they’re going to get for now.” Io turned away from her screens and gave me her full attention. “You’re not alone in this, Ryan. There’s a whole Bureau tackling the same problems you are. You don’t have to do this all on your own.”
“Chosen one or not, no man is an island, Ryan,” Hannah said in agreement with Io.
“You’ll always be our hero, and you keep proving yourself, but maybe you don’t need to tackle so much with your own two hands. Just saying,” Euna said, then she glanced down like she was ashamed. “I can’t help but feel responsible for how overprotective you’ve become ever since Boris. I feel like my near-death may have made you feel like you need to do more all on your own so all of us can rely on you.”
Tabitha spoke up again, building off of Euna’s point. “But that’s not fair, Ryan. You have us to rely on, too. It’s not up to you to protect us. We’re all highly capable. You know that. I trained you myself. And Euna, for that matter. You used to defer to me and my combat experience, in fact. Not sure when that changed.”
I stood up, fully dressed, and pointed to her stomach. “That changed when you started growing another living being inside your womb, Tabby. Ever since then, whenever you put yourself in danger you aren’t just fighting for you anymore. You’ve got an extra passenger onboard who’s a helluva lot less resilient than you are. That means the bravest and most important battle you can fight every day is making sure our son has a safe place to grow. Meaning no running into firefights or going out where you run the risk of getting chewed up or clawed apart by savage monsters. You can leave that to me. And yeah, Euna, almost losing you changed the way I felt about putting you all in unnecessary danger. But you all made me strong enough to handle the threats coming our way. You need to stay safe, and it’s my job to protect you.” I moved towards the door, looking each of the girls in the eyes as I did so. “It’s my job to protect all of you. Now shut up and let me do it.”
Selene or Hannah, probably both, got in my way. Her mouth opened to say something else, but my patience had completely evaporated at this point. I couldn’t even shower zombie guts off myself without being ambushed? Fuck no.
“Don’t start with me. I had just started adjusting to a world without you, and now you show up and make everything confusing? No. Leave me be.”
I sidestepped her, opened the door, and fled from their shocked faces; heading for the only refuge I had left since they were all parked in my room. My feet angled me towards my office and I moved fast enough that none of the girls could catch up with me.
