Chapter Five
The werewolves roared, and spittle sprayed from their gaping maws. They were certainly ferocious beasts, but these creatures would learn soon enough not to mess with the God of Time.
I swung my feather sword in an upward motion, but the beast caught the blade with his claws and ripped it from my hands. I quickly withdrew my two daggers from their sheaths while I muttered a curse under my breath.
“Bash!” Elissa screamed as she dashed toward her mace with a werewolf hot on her tail. “Help me!”
I stomped my foot to activate the fleetness ability of my griffon feather boots, and then I shot across the campsite, jumped over the fire, plunged both of my daggers into the beast’s shoulders, and then held on for dear life.
The monster roared and reared backward in an effort to dislodge me, but I kept my grip. Then I twisted one of my blades so I could wrench it free, and I used the weapon to slice open the werewolf’s throat.
The beast stomped its massive hind claw into the dirt and let out a ferocious howl that ended on a gurgling note as the creature fell limply to the ground.
Before I could even congratulate myself on the kill, however, claws ripped at my back, so I spun and parried the talons with my daggers. Suddenly, Elissa let out a loud cry as she charged forward with her mace raised, and she spun in the last moment before her weapon collided into my target.
“Great One!” Mahini shouted from behind me, and I whirled around to see the desert goddess scrambling up a tree in an effort to avoid the wolf-man scratching at the trunk.
“Get to safety!” I yelled as I repositioned my daggers in my hands and readied myself for another charge. “I’ll kill these guys!”
Just then, blurs of silver spiraled through the air with a high-pitched whistling sound before Evangeline’s throwing stars buried deep into the back of the werewolf chasing Mahini. The beast fell with a thud, and it wheezed out in pain when Mahini whirled around and plunged her sword through its head.
Next, Elissa spun her mace in a wide arch and connected with the shoulder muscle of one of the creatures, and the sounds of bones cracking filled the air.
“We’re fighting by your side,” Elissa informed me with a stubborn lift of her dainty chin.
Before I could respond, another beast lunged, and I fell to the ground with the creature on top of me. The wolf-man held my fists in his front claws, and his gaping maw dripped saliva onto my face.
“Disgusting,” I groaned as I tried to shove the bastard off me, but that only caused us to roll across the dirt until I was straddling the creature.
My daggers were still tight in its grip, and the claws were beginning to dig into my forearms, so it was only a matter of time before my iron fist gauntlets were damaged.
Thinking about my gauntlets gave me an idea, though, and I pulled back my arm as far as I could while still in the beast’s grasp. Then I slammed my fist forward, and his front leg came with me. I punched the wolf-man in the chest with all the force of the iron fist gauntlets, and I felt its ribs shatter beneath my fist like a dozen eggs under a hammer.
They were a one and done piece of gear, so they no longer had magical properties, but it was worth it.
The beast let out a pained cry, and his grip slackened on my fists, so I wrenched my hands free and quickly slashed my daggers across its throat.
Suddenly, claws tore into my shoulders and ripped me off the dead werewolf thing. I was thrown backward, and I skidded into a tree with a harsh thud. The air was knocked from my lungs, and my heartbeat quickened as I stared down the massive creature galloping toward me.
It was the biggest of the wolf-men, and it looked angry as fuck.
Muscles bulged in its shoulders as it ran on all four legs toward me, and a low growl echoed from its dripping maw. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end, and a shiver ran down my spine as I gripped my daggers firmly and tried to get to my feet.
The creature was on me before I could stand, though, and I barely dodged the swipe of its claws at my head. The long, sharp nails left carved ridges in the tree behind me, and I swallowed hard as I realized that could have been my face.
I brought my daggers up just in time to block the blow from its other hand, and I groaned from the effort it took to hold off the massive beast.
“Bash!” My wife’s voice was high and full of fear, and my heart froze at the sound.
“Fuck!” I growled as I swiped at the beast pinning me to the tree. I could feel the anger building in the pit of my stomach as I thought about my wife being in need of my help, and this asshole was standing in my way.
The werewolf guy growled back at me, and he snapped at my face with his long fangs, but I remembered a trick for ferocious dogs, and I took the opportunity of his open maw to shove my forearm into his mouth.
The beast whimpered as his jaw was forced wide open, and in that moment I had the clarity of mind to slash my blade across his throat. Blood squirted from the wound and coated my face, and I spat out the vile liquid as the beast let out a pained howl.
Elissa’s cry of pain came immediately afterward, and the sound broke my heart. She was too far away for me to get to, so I quickly reset to my save point.
Chime.
The werewolves roared, and spittle sprayed from their gaping maws.
I took a deep breath to rid myself of my temporary grief since Elissa was alive and well, and then I leapt into motion.
“Get to the trees,” I urged as I withdrew my feather sword and rushed forward. “I don’t think they can climb.”
I swung my blade in an upward motion, but I was ready when the beast tried to yank it from my grasp. This time I held on firmly, and I shoved my blade against its claws in an effort to push it backward. The creature’s hind legs dug into the dirt, and its gaping maw was inches from my face.
“We fight by your side,” my wife argued. “I can’t use my mace if I’m up in a tree.”
“There’s no time!” I hissed. “They’re going to attack any second now.”
“Listen to the Great One,” Mahini urged as she rushed over to Elissa and stood protectively in front of her. “I’ll give you two cover to get up in a tree. Hurry!”
The desert goddess withdrew her bow, and she began to fire rapid shots into the horde of werewolf things as the three ladies headed for the trees.
I heaved the werewolf off my blade, and I slashed my sword menacingly through the air as I backed up, but the creatures pursued me.
Once all three women had climbed up into a tree, Mahini’s arrows flew like rain. She nailed several beasts in rapid succession, and then I dashed forward while she reloaded, and I put the creatures out of their misery.
I worked my way through the horde, and I slashed at them in wide arcs with my feather sword to keep them at bay. I dodged claws, ducked below snarling mouths, and kicked at the hind legs that kept the beasts upright.
Then the monstrous one zeroed in on me with an ear-splitting howl, and the others stood to the side to let him through.
Interesting. It seemed there was at least a tiny bit of intelligence in them.
I swallowed hard as the creature roared again, but I held my ground. It charged forward on all fours with its hackles raised and teeth bared, but just before it launched itself on me, I stepped to the side.
“You missed me.” Like a bullfighter with a red cloak, I taunted the beast with a wiggle of my hand.
The creature skidded to a halt and circled back around, and I danced around it with a twirl of my blade. I cut a slice across its face, then its stomach, and finally its haunches until it was dripping blood from several wounds. The beast was infuriated, and he lunged at me with renewed rage.
Suddenly, several throwing stars arced through the air and dug into the werewolf thing’s back. Wounded and enraged, the creature roared again, and the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end once more.
The beast eyed me and huffed in pain. Then it charged forward, but I was ready for it, and I met its face with a roundhouse kick seconds before it lunged at me.
The beast was flung to the side, and it skidded across the ground, but I could still see its chest moving with each breath, so it was still alive. I didn’t want that to last very long, though, so I quickly crossed the distance between us, and I gave the creature a solid kick in the ribs before I shoved my feather sword through its eyeball and into its brain.
The dead creature’s mouth flopped open as its fangs still dripped saliva onto the dirt beneath it, and I wondered if it could be used for enchanting magical items. Before I could continue this thought, however, a growl at my back reminded me there were still enemies to deal with.
I swiveled and swiped my feather sword to keep them back, but the remaining wolf beasts barreled toward me with no regard for their own safety. I was surrounded a moment later, and my heartbeat quickened. I had to do something, and fast.
I could do fast.
I grinned into the gaping maws of the werewolf creatures as I stomped my foot to activate the fleetness of my griffon feather boots. Then I zipped through the horde of beasts in a blur of motion, and I sliced throats, cut arteries, and buried my daggers into skulls faster than the creatures could retaliate.
When I finally came to a stop, the beasts were dead around me, but pain arched through my arm, and I looked down to see blood spilling from a cut on my shoulder.
“Fuck,” I cursed. I wanted a hundred percent perfection.
Chime.
“Get to the trees,” I instructed my women as I withdrew my feather sword and charged toward the first beast. “Now!”
The werewolf roared in my face as it caught the edge of my blade in its claws, and it once again tried to wrench it from my grasp. I shoved the creature backward, and I slashed at its throat.
“But I want to fight with you,” Elissa argued.
“I need you safe,” I countered, and I jumped backward to avoid a swipe from the creature’s sharp claws. “Get some rocks or something to throw at their heads while I fight them.”
“Come on,” Eva said as she trotted toward the trees. “This way, Lissy!”
“I’ll keep her safe,” Mahini said as she stepped up beside Elissa, and she took my wife’s hand.
“Fine, Bash,” my wife sighed reluctantly. “Be careful.”
Then she turned and followed the other women to the trees. I watched for a moment while they scurried up the trunks, but then they got onto branches too high for the werewolf creatures to reach.
Once I knew my three women would be safe, I faced down the horde of werewolf creatures with a determined glint in my eyes.
I was going to kill all of them without getting a single scratch on me.
I activated my griffon feather boots with a stomp, and then I dashed forward faster than the eye could see. I cut through as many of the beasts as I could on my way to the monstrous big fucker, but once I had him in my sights, all the others were forgotten.
The beasts seemed to pick up on my trajectory, or they wanted to avoid the sharp blur of motion, but either way, they obligingly stepped out of the way to give me a path straight into the giant gaping maw of the growling behemoth of a wolf-creature.
I ran faster than the blink of an eye, and I launched myself at the last moment with my feather sword held out before me. I landed with the blade deep in the beast’s chest, and I once again held on for dear life.
I gripped the hilt of my embedded sword with my right fist while I reached for one of my daggers with the other, and before the beast could swipe his sharp claws at me, I shoved the blade of my dagger into his throat with fatal accuracy.
Blood squirted out all over my face, and I spat out the hot liquid, but I was hesitant to let go until I knew the thing was dead.
The werewolf creature reared back and let out a gurgled roar of pain, but then it toppled over backward with me still clutching my sword on top of it.
I didn’t forget about the remaining enemies this time, though, and I quickly swiveled to cut into the closest one as I pulled my feather sword free from the monstrous thing’s ribs. It didn’t take me very long to finish killing them off, and I sliced the head off the final wolf with a flourish of my wrist.
Finally, the wolves were all dead, and I took a deep breath before I marched toward the closest one to see what loot I could get off it.
Just as I was kneeling down to get a closer look, however, the creature began to crumble into a glowing blue-gray ash. I’d played enough video games to know some magic was afoot, and my smile vanished.
I knew Kane wasn’t capable of summoning beasts, or he would have taught me the magic required to do so, but he was the only wizard I’d met so far.
Could one of the dukes opposing me have a court wizard powerful enough to summon a werewolf? And how had the wolves known to find us here?
There was no telling what was truly going on, so I’d just have to have a chat with whoever was responsible as soon as I found out who they were. No one messed with the God of Time without there being consequences.
I frowned as I thought over the possibilities. There was someone in Sorreyal with magic strong enough to send a horde of werewolf creatures after us, and that didn’t sit well with me. My few spells paled in comparison, and I was eager to learn more.
“It’s safe now,” I called up to the tree branches as I stood up and dusted off my knees.
“What were those things?” Evangeline asked once she’d scurried down the trunk of her hiding place.
“They looked like wolves,” Mahini observed with a thoughtful frown, “but also men.”
“I’ve heard stories about werewolves and wolf creatures who plague the forest during the full moon…” Elissa shuddered as she stepped into my open arms. “I didn’t imagine them to be true.”
“They may not be,” I mused. “Look at the remains. Nothing but ash. These were not natural beasts. They were man made. Somehow…”
“You’re right!” Mahini gasped. “What magic is this?”
“Likely a summons,” Eva pointed out. “Duke Arginold’s court wizard summoned a puppy-like creature for my birthday one time.”
“So, the duke’s wizard can summon creatures?” I pressed as my blood quickened.
“I think so.” The blonde shrugged. “I was very young at the time, but I remember the puppy glowed a gray-blue color similar to those ashes.”
“That’s wonderful, Eva,” I breathed. “Thank you. You confirmed my suspicions. This has to be the work of our enemies, the two dukes.”
“What do we do?” Elissa bit her lip with a worried frown.
“Keep fighting.” I gave my wife a reassuring smile. “Same as always.”
“Bash is right,” Eva said with a decisive nod. “We can’t let some story tale creatures scare us, ladies. We need to be strong for the Great One.”
“We will,” Mahini proclaimed.
“Yep,” Elissa chimed in. “I might be scared, but that doesn’t mean I regret coming along.”
“Bravery is pushing past fear, not the absence of fear,” I said with a proud grin. “I’m glad you’re all here with me. It would be incredibly boring on my own.”
“We should get some sleep,” Mahini pointed out. “We can pick up our pace tomorrow and try to outrun any tails following us.”
I made a new save point just in case we encountered some trouble in the night, but I didn’t think it was likely that we would be attacked twice in one evening.
“Good idea.” I jerked my chin toward the oversized tent. “Shall we?”
“Let me just bank the fire first,” my wife said as she moved toward the coals.
“Here, I’ll help,” Mahini said as she followed after the red-haired beauty.
Eva took my hand, and the two of us made our way to the tent, but it didn’t take the other two very long to catch up. Then we all snuggled into our sleeping pads together, and after a while the radiant body heat had warmed up the entire tent.
I woke up before dawn to the sound of an owl hooting nearby, and I blinked away the sleep from my eyes before I pushed myself up on my elbows.
“Hey, good morning…” I nudged the ladies awake with a gentle touch. “We need to get an early start.”
“It is still night time, my love,” Eva mumbled into her pillow.
“I was dreaming of pie,” Elissa murmured sleepily.
“I’ll saddle the horses,” Mahini said as she sat bolt upright with wide awake eyes.
“I sure do love you girls,” I chuckled.
“I love you, too,” Eva groaned as she rubbed her eyes with her fist. “But do you have to be so awake in the morning?”
“He’s excited about our quest,” Mahini informed her in a conspiratorial tone.
“Just another wonderful day in Sorreyal,” Elissa said, ever the breath of fresh air, and she quickly pulled her fiery tendrils into a side braid. “Best not let this day go to waste.”
“One more hour,” Eva groaned.
“You have until the horses are ready,” I teased. “Then we might just leave without you.”
“You’d have to leave the tent, too!” she countered, but she was sounding more awake, so I grinned and started to tickle her.
“Don’t gang up on the lady,” Elissa admonished in an offended tone before she started to tickle my sides.
“You lot better keep your ticklish hands off me,” Mahini declared, and she crawled out of the tent without another word.
“I’m awake,” Eva sighed, and she shot me a brilliant smile. “I’ll be ready soon, Great One.”
“Now, that’s more like it.” I smirked, and then I let her be while I went about preparing the horses.
We were on the road a short while later, but I made a new save point before we got started just in case. There were no signs of anyone following us, but I was still wary. The girls were all hyper vigilant as we rode down the dirt path, too, and they jumped at every unfamiliar sound.
I ignored their nervousness for a while, and I distracted myself with taking in the view. It was beautiful. The land grew more rugged and mountainous the further north we travelled, and in the far distance, I could make out snowcapped purple peaks.
The girls began to shiver as the temperature plummeted, so we took a break to pull out some of the warmer clothes we’d brought along with us. I pulled the fur-lined cloak over my shoulders and sighed with relief as the fuzzy interior warmed me up instantly. Then I pulled the hood up over my helmet to block more of the icy wind, and once we were all ready again, we hit the road once more.
We rode through valleys full of dense fog, through winding fields of wheat, and into shadowy forests where the leaves seemed to absorb all light. Sorreyal was beautiful, and it seemed like we were entering a different kind of territory than I was used to.
We encountered a few travelers along the way, and the girls all gripped their weapons with tight-lipped smiles on their faces. They were suspicious and wary of everything, and I was starting to get worried about them.
While it was good to be on the defensive, I didn’t want to cause them so much stress that they didn’t enjoy the adventure. I had to do something to take their mind off our enemies, and then I got an idea, so I made a new save point.
“Let’s find someplace to make camp,” I said as I pulled Goliath to a halt. “Then we should go hunting.”
“Ooh, all of us?” My redheaded wife was obviously excited by the way she bounced in her saddle.
“Yes, all of us,” I laughed. “It’s time you three learned what I know about tracking and cleaning game.”
“Did the Great One get spoiled by fresh venison on our recent travels?” The desert goddess shot me a coy smile.
“I’d be happy to learn,” Eva said with an eager grin.
“Good, then let’s get to work,” I chuckled, and I pulled Goliath’s reins toward the edge of the road.
We found a small meandering brook with a moss-covered copse of trees nearby that would make a soft landing spot for our tent, so we quickly unpacked and set up our campsite.
Mahini hummed under her breath while we worked, and then Elissa joined in. Evangeline’s eyes turned misty as she listened, and my heart was warmed by the camaraderie between my ladies.
Once the tent was set up, and the horses put out to graze on long leads, we grabbed our bows and trotted away from our campsite. The sun was still high in the sky, but the forest floor was cool and full of shadows for little creatures to hide in. My three women’s anxiety was long forgotten, however, and they panted with excitement as they followed along behind me at a brisk pace.
It didn’t take me long to spot some tracks, but I wasn’t sure what animal they were made by. I’d just have to follow it to find out, so I carefully squatted down to examine the marks in the forest floor. It was a hoof, so likely a deer, and my stomach grumbled at the thought. I’d gotten spoiled with fresh venison like Mahini had said, and I wasn’t about to give up the addiction any time soon.
“Look,” I said as I pointed to the marks in the dirt. “Deer tracks.”
“Very good, Great One,” Eva complimented me with a flutter of her eyelashes. “We just got started, and you already found a prey.”
“What should we do?” Elissa breathed, and her emerald eyes were alight with excitement.
“Follow it, of course,” Mahini supplied with a knowing smile. “What else?”
“She’s right.” I grinned. “We follow it.”
We made our way through the woods in a single file line with me at the lead, but the tracks grew faint after a time, and I had to go very slowly to find the next mark.
“How much further?” Elissa asked as her gaze followed mine across the ground.
“It can’t be far now,” I assured her. “It’s gone in a small circle here. See?”
I pointed out the spot where the hoof marks overlapped, and then I scanned the leaves and brush for signs of a disturbance. I spotted a bent limb on the underbrush a few feet away, and I carefully stepped over the deer tracks to inspect it. Sure enough, on the ground below the bush was an indent made by a hooved animal.
“This way,” I whispered as I jerked my chin toward the bush.
The girls tiptoed behind me, and I was careful not to whack any of them with branches as we made our way through the undergrowth. We continued on for several paces before I spotted another hoof mark, but it was like fuel to the fire burning in my gut.
We were getting closer.
I parted the last of the limbs and exited the underbrush with the girls right behind me, and suddenly we stood in a small grove of trees with mushrooms growing everywhere. They were all different colors, shapes, and sizes, and I licked my lips as I considered whether they were edible or not.
I followed the trail of mushrooms past the circle of trees, and I inhaled sharply when I spotted the deer twenty yards in front of us.
“There!” I whispered in an urgent tone, and I pointed with my eyes to the beautiful wild specimen.
Mahini gave me a subtle nod and quietly notched an arrow to her bow, and no one made a sound while she took aim. Then the desert goddess exhaled slowly as she released her projectile. It spiraled as it zipped through the air, and it sailed between the trees surrounding us before it landed in the doe’s neck with a thud.
The deer bucked its hind legs and took off running, and the girls all chased after it.
“Wait, wait,” I said as I skidded to a halt where the deer had been shot.
The girls froze and turned to look at me with questioning eyes.
“It’s getting away!” Mahini argued.
“No, it’s not,” I laughed, and I pointed down to the blood-stained earth. “You got it good, Mahini. Now, we just have to follow this trail.”
The desert goddess nodded. “Good eye, Great One.”
The four of us followed the trail of blood to where the doe laid dead not too far away, and I showed the girls how to quickly field dress the kill.
“You see, you sever the neck first,” I said as I made the slice across the deer’s throat. “Then you cut down the belly.”
I stepped back and let Mahini take over since it was her arrow that had felled the deer, and the light in her ice-blue eyes as the animal’s guts spilled from its chest cavity made me chuckle. Then I had the other two girls help me cut the deer into four pieces, and we strung them across our backs.
“What’s next, Great One?” Eva asked with eagerness in her gray eyes. A smile danced at the corners of her lips, and she shifted her weight from one foot to the other with an anxious air. “I want to get something, too!”
“Well, then look for some tracks,” I laughed, and I let the duke’s daughter take the lead as we made our way back through the forest.
“Oh, look,” Elissa gasped as she pointed to some paw marks in the dirt. “What animal made those?”
I analyzed the indent in the soft ground for a moment as I scratched my jaw.
“Rabbit,” I said after a long silence, and the girls all oohed and aahed at my announcement. “Look over there, more tracks.”
The girls all hurried over to where I pointed, and I followed behind with a love-smitten expression. Being able to hunt with my women was a dream, and I loved their excitement over every detail. These weren’t the Instagram model wannabe’s from my old world, these were amazing women who wanted to ride, hunt, and go on adventures with me.
We ambled through the woods after the rabbit tracks until they lead to a burrow nestled in the exposed roots of a tree. The hole seemed to swallow the light, and I wondered how deep it went.
“What do we do now?” Eva asked.
“Let’s see what’s inside it!” Elissa suggested as she bounced on the balls of her feet and clasped her hands together.
I gave her an appreciative smile as I squatted down beside the burrow, and I reached inside with an air of caution. I stretched my arm deep inside the hole and around a slight bend in the tunnel, but then the tip of my fingers brushed against dry grass and then soft, downy fur.
I furrowed my brow as I tried to get a grasp on the thing, and then I withdrew my arm to reveal a tiny, baby bunny just beginning to grow its soft white fur. Its eyes were still closed, and its little pink nose twitched as it snuggled into my hand.
“Awww,” Elissa and Eva sighed simultaneously.
“A baby!” Mahini’s ice-blue eyes widened in surprise. “We can’t kill that little thing!”
“We aren’t going to kill it,” I laughed. “Just thought you’d want to see it.”
“It’s…” The desert goddess hesitated, and I could see the muscle in her throat move as she swallowed. “It’s adorable.”
“You’re adorable,” I quipped with a wink.
“Can I hold it?” my wife asked as she made grabby motions at me.
“Sure.” I grinned, and I handed over the baby bunny to my excited wife. “Just be careful.”
“I know how to handle a baby,” Elissa giggled, but there were already hearts in her eyes as she cradled the bunny lovingly against her bosom.
“I don’t wish to confuse its mother by adding to its scent too much…” Eva said, and the duke’s daughter bit her luscious bottom lip. “But I would desperately like to hold it as well.”
“I’ll get you one,” I said, and I reached back inside the burrow in search of another fuzzy ball. My reaching fingertips found purchase in the fur of another baby, so I withdrew it proudly and presented it to Evangeline. This one also had its eyes closed, and it looked even smaller than the first, like it was the runt. Both had downy white fur, though, and I imagined how soft the mother must be as well.
The duke’s daughter’s smoky-gray eyes were full of emotion as she accepted the bunny gift, and she stroked the tiny thing gently between the ears with one finger.
“They are so cute!” Elissa squealed.
“I suppose our hunt is over, then?” Mahini questioned with a wry smile.
“Don’t you want to hold one?” I asked.
“I-I don’t think so,” the desert goddess stammered as her eyes went wide. “I’m alright with observing for now.”
“Okay,” I chuckled.
The other two girls cuddled their bunnies for a short while, and then I put them back in their burrow beneath the tree.
“Let’s get back to camp,” I said, and I hoisted my section of deer onto my shoulder once more. The girls followed suit, and then I retraced our steps back to our little campsite.
“I’ll start the fire,” Mahini said with a decisive nod.
“I’ll prepare some of the meat for roasting,” Evangeline offered.
“Bash, let’s look for some firewood,” Elissa said in a suggestive tone, and the warmth of her hand as she laid it on my arm spoke volumes.
“Yes, ma’am,” I growled in a low voice, and I deposited my deer section next to the firepit where Mahini was already hard at work.
“I’ll need lots of wood, but I have enough to get it started,” the desert goddess said as she waved me away with the flap of a hand. “Take your time.”
“Yes, ma’am,” I chuckled, and then I followed my wife back out into the woods. “I’ll be back with plenty of wood, trust me.”
We hadn’t gone twenty paces when the tiny goddess whirled on me, and she placed a commanding hand upon my chest.
“Fuck me against a tree, husband,” she said in a voice that brokered no argument, and the next thing I knew, my lips were on hers.
I pulled her tiny frame into my arms and lifted her up like she was made of feathers. Her petite body pressed against mine, and her tongue grew insistent against my lips.
“I love you, Bash,” she murmured as she came up for air. “Thank you for today.”
“I would do anything for you,” I breathed as I planted kisses along her jaw and chin. My hands roved down her back and cupped her ass cheeks, and my wife wrapped her legs around my hips.
“Then grant me this small favor,” she whispered as she twirled her fingers around the back of my neck. “I want to feel the bark on my back.”
“You’re so fucking sexy,” I growled as I backed her up against the nearest tree and began to pull at her clothes. “I need to feel you wrapped around me.”
“And I need you deep inside me,” she said in a husky voice full of desire. “I want you to fill me up with your seed. I want your baby so much.”
My cock throbbed at her words, and it fought against the restraint of my pants. Heat radiated from between my wife’s legs, and the sensation of warmth spread across my crotch and turned me on even more.
I set her down so we could get undressed, and my limber wife shimmied her pants down her hips to her feet. I fumbled with the ties of my pants, but a moment later my stiff cock was free and standing at attention.
“Goodness,” Elissa giggled as she wrapped her tiny hands around my stiff cock. “Are you ready?”
“Yes,” I hissed, and my hips bucked toward her grasp.
“I’m ready, too. Sooo ready…” My wife brought my cock toward the dripping entrance to her secret tunnel, and she rubbed the tip against her outer lips in a tantalizing motion.
“Come here,” I growled, and I grabbed her beneath the arms to lift her up onto my throbbing shaft. Then I impaled her slowly as I gently lowered her all the way until my full length was buried deep inside her.
“Oooh, yess,” Elissa gasped as I thrust again. “Harder. Deeper. Make me yours.”
I obliged and plunged my shaft inside her over and over again while her back was pressed up against the tree. I held her up with an arm wrapped around her lower back, and my other hand explored the soft texture of her thigh. Her ankles were crossed behind my back, and her nails dug into the nape of my neck as our bodies joined into one flesh.
Her cries of pleasure matched mine as I increased my pace, and perspiration caused her vibrant red hair to stick to her forehead. She looked up at me with lust flooding her emerald eyes, and her lips parted slightly.
“I… Love… You… Bash,” she gasped out between thrusts.
“I love you, too,” I murmured into her hair as I plunged my cock into her wet tunnel over and over again.
“Fill me with your seed…” she begged. “Please… I need every drop in my womb.”
“As… You… Wish…” I said right before I buried my cock deep inside her and unleashed a torrent of cum that flooded her tunnel.
“Ohhhh!” Elissa gasped, and her head shot backward as the muscle in her throat bobbed up and down. Every muscle in her body spasmed as she climaxed, and her wet pussy clamped down around my dick with a vibrating sensation.
Once she was breathing normally again, I set my wife gently on her feet, and my cum-slick cock slid out of her dripping entrance with a slippery pop that made her gasp again.
“That was wonderful,” she breathed with flushed cheeks and askew hair. “Thank you, Bash.”
“No, no, no,” I argued with a shake of my head. “Thank you, my sexy goddess.”
Elissa giggled and looked down at the mess dripping down her thighs, and then she started to very carefully push the tendrils of white cream back inside her pussy lips with her finger.
“I want your baby,” she explained when I raised a questioning eyebrow. “We can’t waste any of this precious sperm.”
I chuckled as I refastened my pants. “I think it would be cool to be a dad.”
“You will be the best father ever,” my wife assured me with a wide grin.
We finished our task of gathering firewood before we returned to the campsite, and the meat was already starting to sputter out juices over the fire. The other two girls were happily munching on some venison when Elissa and I returned, and I dumped my armload of wood down beside the fire before Mahini handed me some food.
“That didn’t take nearly as long as I expected,” the desert goddess teased with a wink.
“Time flies when you’re having fun,” I replied with a shit-eating grin.
I ate my fill, but by the time we’d all eaten, it was getting pretty dark. Mahini banked the fire with some more wood, and the four of us crawled inside our large tent.
We slept peacefully, but there were a couple of times my wife’s snores woke me up in the middle of the night.
Baby making was hard work.
The next morning I went through our gear and checked the maps I had of our route, and I realized a small town was close by. We could stop there for the evening and sleep on a real bed again.
The girls were excited about it when I told them, and we eagerly saddled our horses and broke down camp.
“It’s less than a day’s ride, but it looked big enough to have a tavern or an inn,” I informed them in a pleased tone. “We might even be able to get some ale in us tonight.”
“That sounds wonderful,” Eva breathed as she mounted her horse, who she’d affectionately dubbed Duchess.
“I agree,” Mahini said with a firm nod. “Let’s get on the road, we could get there before sunset if we hurry.”
“Yes, let’s hurry!” Elissa added, and she clicked her tongue to her mare Star.
I chuckled to myself as I stashed the map in a saddle bag and mounted Goliath. Then I took the lead at a brisk pace, but the road began to incline up the slope of a mountain. The village laid on the other side of a pass beyond the ridge, so it would be slow going in places.
The girls weren’t happy with how slow the horses had to go up the hill, but after a while the ground leveled out, and we began to descend into a valley. Fog clung to the upper reaches of the peaks, but down in the grassland it was warm and sunny.
We rode past fields upon fields of wildflowers while Eva and Elissa squealed with delight. Mahini looked on whimsically, but she seemed less distracted by the flowers than the others.
“Can we stop for some?” Eva asked as her gray eyes stole back to the colorful spread of foliage.
“Sure,” I laughed, but the desert goddess shot me a hot look, so I gave Mahini a sympathetic smile. “We have all the time in the world.”
The two girls giggled as they ran through the field hand in hand, but the desert goddess and I remained on our horses.
“You don’t seem very worried about our quest,” Mahini observed after a few moments of comfortable silence.
“Why should I be?” I said with a shrug. “I’m the God of Time, no one can stand in my way.”
Suddenly, a gust of wind brought to my ears the sound of metal clashing against metal, and then I heard the distant cries of men in battle. Goliath’s ear’s flickered as the warhorse also picked up on the far away fight, and I turned and frowned in the direction of the commotion.
“Something’s going on up ahead,” I informed Mahini with a furrowed brow. “I hear fighting.”
“The village,” she gasped, and her ice-blue eyes gazed longingly down the road. “What do we do? Eva and Elissa are still out in the fields… ”
“Stay here with them,” I instructed as my mind raced over the possibilities. “I will ride ahead and see what I can do to help the village.”
“Yes, Great One,” Mahini replied, and she slid from her horse’s back. She then headed toward the wildflowers and the other two girls while I clicked my heels against Goliath’s flanks to urge him onward down the road.
There was a battle to fight, and my warhorse and I were not ones to be left out.
The God of Time was on his way.
