Cold Comfort
We headed back to Roue Devard in a pretty subdued mood. Though we’d successfully made a squid-man’s head explode, that hadn’t exactly been the objective setting out, and we’d actually lost our one good chance of taking Teklin down due to the aforementioned head explosion. And the loss of said head meant that Psyren couldn’t even pull some good intel out of it. All in all, it had been a pretty shit night.
Well, almost.
I reached into my pocket, fingering Teklin’s holographic communicator. It was a long shot, but I’d snatched it up anyway. It just might prove our next lead. Either way, we were back on our heels and waiting for Teklin to make his move, which was a terrible position to be in. Villains act, heroes react, as the saying goes. And sadly, we were now in the react phase. Another reason I never wanted to be a hero. Too passive. You end up having to wait until your hometown gets burned down and only then can you begin your heroic quest. But then your home is burned down, so kind of a shitty trade if you asked me. Especially since my new home was really nice.
Speaking of, we reached the gate and passed through under the watchful eyes of some security cameras. As a result, I wasn’t particularly surprised to find Dolly waiting for us in the foyer, her woolly hair fairly glowing under the lights.
“That bad, huh?” she said with a sympathetic look.
And here I thought I had a good poker face.
I sighed, rubbing my chin and mouth. “It… could have gone better,” I admitted.
“What happened?”
“We found Teklin’s agent at the Nights,” I said. “But he was… not cooperative.”
“Well, that’s a given,” Dolly said.
“Yes. But Teklin made extra sure of that. A bomb implanted in his head turned him into calamari.”
Dolly winced. “Oof. Well, glad I didn’t let him tinker with my head when we worked together. But,” she said, drawing herself up with a firm look. “Seems like that means I just have to be that much better at tracking him down!”
“In that case, I might have something to help with that.”
I produced the disc and held it out to Dolly. Her eyes brightened and she bounded forward, snatching it up. “Ooh! Gimme gimme. Aha! One of these, eh? I can’t believe Teklin is still using these things.”
That sounded promising. “Do you think you can track down where the signal was coming from?”
“Of course!” Dolly declared, tossing her head with a smirk. “I am, after all, a genius! I’ll get started right away. Ha! It’ll be fun to show that egotistical prick who’s the smartest one here.”
“If anyone can, it’d be you,” I told her.
Dolly grinned, then shuffled forward and gave me a sudden hug. “Thanks, Victor. I really do appreciate it.”
I patted her woolly head, feeling my stomach sink again at my own failure to solve things at the ship. I should have figured out a way to make Flabbius talk before Teklin blew his head up. That was such an obvious trope too. The deadman’s switch in the henchmen is a given for the average sociopath who doesn’t want to pay into any retirement funds. Though, I’d expected something more traditional like arsenic in the tooth. You know, something classier. But given Teklin’s skill set, again, I shouldn’t have been surprised. It was just so… messy.
See, that was the problem with bad guys these days. No class. No respect for the fundamentals of villainy. Too many went off their meds, saw The Dark Knight and tried to go full Joker. And you never go full Joker. That shit will get you rightfully killed. Petty nihilists. Give me a guy in a mask running around with a big round bomb and a hissing fuse any day. That kind of thing was always gold. Besides, elaborate psychological games rarely work out unless you’re a psychic pulling everyone’s strings already.
I patted Dolly on the head. “We’ll get him yet, Dolly. Don’t you worry. You find him, and I’ll make sure he never bothers you again.”
Dolly snorted, looking up at me. “I know you will, Victor.”
She suddenly stepped back, slapped her cheeks as if waking herself up. “Welp!” she said, hands planted on her hips. “Night’s not getting any younger. I’ll get back to it.”
“Do get a bit of sleep,” I reminded her.
“Sleep is for the weak! Caffeine for the strong!” Dolly laughed, spinning about and skipping back down the hall.
“Mmmm. Think I’m gonna head to bed too, boss,” Psyren said, stretching lazily. “We got that big meeting tomorrow to get my costume, right?”
Ah, almost forgot about that with everything else going on. “You’re right,” I said. “Better rest up.”
She winked at me and slipped away up the stairs towards her room.
And then there was one.
I looked back down to Glacia, who I’d been feeling the tension roll off of since we got in my car back at the pier. Her arms were crossed, head bowed so her hair tumbled over her face to hide her expression in shadow. Ever since we left the Nights she hadn’t said a word, and knowing her, I’d been sure to wait until we were alone again before asking about it.
Well, now or never.
“Something you want to talk about?” I said.
Glacia raised her head. Her lips were pinched tight and her eyes were clear but worried. “Sir?” she said. “I’m sorry.”
“What for?” I said.
“I failed you tonight. I was taken captive by your enemy, and failed to capture him intact for interrogation. I’m… ashamed, sir.”
“Glacia, the guy’s head exploded. There wasn’t anything we could have done about that.”
“If I was better, sir-“
I sighed. “Glacia,” I said, putting my arm around her and pulling her close, walking her towards the stairs. “Sometimes, things just go wrong in this business. It’s no one’s fault, really. Well, usually. And there was nothing you could have done to stop it. We’ll get past this.”
“I have made a poor number two to you, sir,” Glacia said. “I should have predicted it.”
“No, I should have,” I said. “I felt the device in his brain. I should have yanked it out of there the second things started going wrong. But I was too worried about killing him to do it. You have to make the decisions in the moment with as much information as you have. We went in there expecting to find Teklin, but we didn’t. So we just have to learn from this.”
Glacia nodded, leaning against my side as we walked up the steps. “If you say so, sir. But I still feel like I should have done more.”
“You did everything I could have hoped for and more,” I said. “He grabbed you, yes, but you used that opportunity to freeze his ass. That’s exactly the sort of quick thinking I need in my number two.”
Glacia looked up at me, her clear blue eyes bright in the dark of the hallway, fairly glowing with their own light. “Really, sir?”
“Of course. In fact,” I said, tilting up her chin. “I think such excellent work deserves a reward…”
Her eyes widened, then lidded as I leaned down and kissed her. I felt Glacia shudder in ecstasy as our lips met, her body pressing against mine, breasts rubbing against my chest. Her lips parted, surrendering at once, my tongue pushing into her mouth, making her groan and shudder in pure pleasure.
I felt the heat of lust start to burn in me. Mmm, I did love this. Before this whole thing with Glacia started, I’d only ever had one-night stands. No commitment. No problems. And I’d never had trouble finding a girl looking for a good time. A lot of women loved the idea of fucking the bad guy. There was a reason prisoners got mountains of fan mail. Something about the danger was incredibly appealing. Not to mention the usual allure of supers. But I hadn’t dated for a long time. Especially not in the business. One psycho ex who could bench press a continent was enough, thanks.
But ever since I moved into the chalet, I’d been having lots of fun with the girls, and the longer I spent with them, the better I got at knowing how to make them purr like a catgirl raiding the catnip.
I palmed Glacia’s breast as my other arm wrapped around her and grabbed her ass, pulling her closer. She groaned, arching against me, yielding instantly to my touch with a soft sound of pleasure. I felt her leg slide between mine, and my hand stroked up along the curve of her ass to grasp her thigh. I suddenly lifted her, Glacia gasping, then moaning as her legs wrapped around my waist, her tongue writhing with mine as I carried her down the hall and to our room.
A twist of my powers opened the door and let us inside. The darkness proved no obstacle. I could sense every nail in the furniture and I carried Glacia to the bed with ease. I dumped her onto it, leaning over her and continuing to kiss her.
“Arms up,” I gasped, breaking the kiss.
At once Glacia obeyed, and with a pull of my powers on her buttons I lifted her dress up and off her. She gasped, left in nothing but her bra and panties, her eyes glowing a soft blue in the darkness of the room, her body stretched out before me, barely visible. But that was fine. I was more than happy to use my hands to explore her.
I kissed her throat as, with another twitch of my powers, I undid the catch of her bra. I eased it off, Glacia moaning softly as I freed her breasts. “Fuck you’re gorgeous,” I said, kissing down her neck and to her pale breasts, my lips lingering on them, finding their way to her nipples. I let my tongue flick, teasing those tender nubs, Glacia gasping, her body jolting at the sensation.
“Oh s-sirrrr,” she moaned.
I chuckled. “Is my number two feeling needy?” I asked, again flicking her nipple, my hand teasing between her legs and cupping her mound through her panties.
“Ohhhh! I-I am, s-sir,” Glacia panted, hips rocking as I rubbed her mound through her panties. “I… I need it…”
“That’s good, Glacia,” I said as my powers undid my belt, pulled down my zipper. “Because so do I. I need you right now. I need to fuck you into this bed and make you scream my name. Can you do that for me, Glacia?”
“Y-yes! Oh God yes.”
“Good girl,” I said, leaned up and kissed her again.
The feel of her lips surrendering to mine sent another thrill racing through my veins. I wanted her so badly, and I was going to get her. I pulled down her panties, revealing her lush folds. I eased forward, pressing against her cunt.
“Mmmm,” she moaned, quivering with need as I rubbed my tip against her entrance, her eyes fairly rolling back with ecstasy.
Ah.
I really did love my life.
I pushed home and felt her tighten, quiver with pleasure as I filled her. I started slow, gently thrusting into her, her gasps and moans swallowed by our kiss. But I couldn’t keep that up for long. Not with the feel of her gorgeous body under me, begging me to do more. Go further. And I wasn’t about to disappoint.
I started fucking her harder. Faster. The slap of flesh against flesh echoing in the room. Glacia’s moans grew more heated, her lashes fluttering as I took her.
“Sir,” she gasped. “Oh s-sir! Please… Please. G-give it to meeeee!”
“You’re so beautiful,” I grunted.
She moaned, her hands trying to paw me. I grabbed them with my own, pinned her arms over her head. Her fingers tightened, squeezing my hands as I fucked her, her breathing growing hotter. Faster. Needier.
I felt the sweat on my body cool as her control over her powers loosened. A chill in the air that made my breath steam. My skin tingled with the sudden awareness of the change in temperature. But I was so hot it made no difference. It only drove me to fuck her harder. No more tenderness. I was going to make her feel this. I was going to make her love every fucking second of it!
I could feel her getting close. The sudden tightening. The feel of her body flexing under me as her pleasure threatened to overwhelm her. Her lashes fluttered. Her body arched.
“Ohhhhhhh!” Glacia cried as she came, a cry of such sweet surrender, her pussy tightening around me with such ecstasy there was no question of holding back. I hilted in her a final time.
“Fuuuuuuck!” I groaned as I came, filling her in a sudden rush with my seed.
Glacia moaned softly, sagging on the bed beneath me, her breasts heaving with her panting breath. I slowed atop her, the lazy afterglow rushing through me.
“Mmm. Oh sir,” she groaned. “That was… that was amazing.”
“And so were you,” I said, leaning down and kissing her again.
She giggled softly, accepting my kiss happily. I gave her breast a squeeze and then leaned back. “Now, I don’t want to hear anything else about you not being good enough to be my second in command. Got it?”
“Is that an… order, sir?” she asked, biting her lip.
I had to chuckle at that. “Yes.”
Glacia nodded, her face radiant with delight and satisfaction. “W-well, if it’s an order, sir, I will. I’d hate to disobey you.”
“Attagirl,” I said.
I pulled her close and threw the blankets over the both of us, snuggling under the covers with her. Glacia sighed contentedly, nuzzling my chest fondly. Her cool skin kept me chilled, but after fighting in the arena and fucking my gorgeous villainess, I was more than happy to let sleep roll over me. I’d have a busy day tomorrow, and there was more troubles ahead of me than ever, but for that night, I could forget about them and just enjoy the company of my second in evil command.
